*“Quiddity of Axion Strings and Domain Walls”*

_Abstract_

We explore some of the peculiarities of axion cosmic string solutions in 
the context of the string axiverse, as well as an unusual vacuum decay 
process involving axion domain walls and their Chern-Simons interactions 
that is possible in theories with axion monodromy (and possibly in 
certain theories of axion inflation).
