Dear Dr. Graziano,
I'm new user for REgCM4.1. I try to run the model for the future simulation using ECHM data.  I was able to run both of terrain and sst.  Once, I performed the icbc command I got the following error:

RegCM/Labwork_EH> ./Bin/icbc .exp1.in

This is icbc part of the RegCM version 4

From the above message, it seems that the grads executable used does not support netCDF. As the binary downloaded from IGES have this enabled by default, I may argue that the binary used has been compiled from source without the netCDF support.
My hint is:

1) Download latest GrADS version from IGES
-or-
2) Compile GrADS from source with netCDF I/O format support enabled.

Ciao!
