Free-time activities
A I R  S H O W
This Sunday, 25 June, from 16:30 until 19, there will be an air show  
along the waterfront around Barcola by the Italian acrobatic flying  
team, the Frecce Tricolori.  Expect disruptions to traffic all along  
viale Miramare for the duration of the event.

A R T  &  E X H I B I T I O N S
Exhibition ongoing at the historical Caffe' San Marco (via Battisti 18)  
of a collection of works by over a dozen artists.  On display daily  
until 2 July.
Exhibition entitled Good Morning, Balkan until 9 July in the Sala del  
Giubileo (Riva Tre Novembre 9). Daily from 10-13 and 15-20.  Works on  
display by artists from all the Balkan states.
Exhibition in Palazzo Gopcevic (via Rossini, 4, alongside the Canal di  
Ponterosso) entitled "Il Porto di Fiume" presents the history of the  
former Italian, now Croatian port of Fiume.  Open until 25 June 2006  
daily from 9-19.  Free entrance.
Exhibition in the ballroom of the Revoltella Museum (via Diaz, 27)  
entitled "Preview - Andy Warhol's Timeboxes".  Open until 18 July 2006  
as an introduction to the main exhibition which will open on 21 July in  
the renovated fish market (ex-pescheria) in Trieste.  E-mail

display here are part of the "Campbell's soup" group, dedicated to  
industry in Pittsburgh, Warhol's home town, which was a recurring  
source of inspiration in his work.
Donde esta' el corazon is the name of the exhibition open until 27 June  
2006 in the Bar Libreria Knulp in via Madonna del Mare 7/A.  On display  
are photographs taken by Simona Granati in the Chiapas region of  
Mexico.

C H I L D R E N's  A C T I V I T I E S
L'Immaginario Scientifico
This science museum (located on the ground floor level of the Adriatico  
Hotel, entrance at the rear of the hotel, opposite the 36 bus stop) has  
exhibits which are particularly suitable for children.
A children's laboratory will be held on Sunday from 15.45-16.45 for  
those aged 4-7 and from 15:30-17:00 for 8-11 year olds.  Both groups  
will be making underwater visors.  You can book by e-mail at

F A I R S  &  M A R K E T S
Flea Market
Starting today, 23 June, each Friday evening from 18-23 in the  
Caravella area of Sistiana bay there will be the first of a weekly  
antiques and bric a brac market, which will take place for the whole of  
the summer season until September.

Gesti e Sapori - Food and Craft Fair
Until Monday 26 June, from 11-23 each day, there will be a fair taking  
place in Piazza Sant'Antonio in Trieste town centre, and the  
surrounding roads with stands offering local craft products and the  
chance to taste and buy all sorts of food and drink.

M U S I C  & D A N C I N G
Triskell Celtic Festival
All weekend in the Boschetto del Ferdinandeo in Trieste there will be  
the 6th International Celtic Festival.  Each evening there will be  
concerts by singers and musicians, including (on Friday and Saturday)  
some who have worked with Clannad and Riverdance.  During the day there  
are demonstrations of Celtic cooking and sports, amongst other  
activities.  More information on www.utherpendragon.it.  Free entrance  
to all concerts and activities.

Mozart Concert
On Sunday 18 June at 21 in the Auditorium of the Revoltella Museum in  
via Diaz there will be the first concert of the summer season by the  
Nuova Orchestra "F. Busoni", conducted by Massimo Belli, entitled "Buon  
compleanno, Mozart".  They will play music by Mozart and Stamitz.   
Entrance 5 Euro.

Prosek Summer Festival
Each evening from Friday to Sunday this weekend there will be the  
Prosek Summer Festival at the Stadio Ervatti in Prosecco.  Local bands  
will be playing each evening at 21 and on Sunday at 18.

Salsa Concert
This evening, Friday 23 June, there will be a concert at 21:30 by the  
Salsa band Mercadonegro in piazza Transalpina in Gorizia, which borders  
Italy and Slovenia.

Jazz Concert
This evening, Friday 23 June, at 21 in piazza Sant'Antonio there will  
be a jazz music concert by the Pietro Tonolo Quartet.

Classical Music Concert
On Sunday 25 June at 21 in piazza Falcone e Borsellino in the centre of  
Monfalcone, there will be a concert by the Orchestra sinfonica del Fvg  
conducted by Tiziano Severini, who will perform two symphonies by  
Mozart.

M U S E U M S
Museo dell'Antartide - Museum of the Arctic
Last few days to visit this interesting museum before it closes on 15  
July for the summer break.  Open each day from 9-13 and 15-19, closed  
Tuesday, in via Weiss 21 (San Giovanni, ex-OPP).  More information on

N A T U R E
Orto Botanico - Botanical Garden
The Civic Botanical Garden in via Marchesetti, 2 is organizing a series  
of evening events throughout the summer months.  This Saturday 24 June,  
from 19-21 there will be a walk entitled "Passeggiata faunistica" to  
observe the small animals and beasts which inhabit local areas.   
Opening hours of the gardens are 9-13 from Monday to Saturday.  More

T O U R S
Trieste by Train
The "Rondo'" historical train which tours Trieste and the surrounding  
hills on the old railway lines started its summer season last weekend.   
Trains leave Campo Marzio station each Sunday at 9:45 and 15, and the  
main Railway station at 11:53 and 17:10.  The journey lasts about 1n  
hour and twenty minutes.  Tickets cost 8 Euro for a single, 12 Euro for  
a return.
Trieste by Bus
Every Saturday a bus leaves for a tour of Trieste from in front of the  
train station at 14.00.  It takes in all of the main sights to see  
downtown, and there is also a 30-minute stop at St. Giusto Castle,  
where you can walk along the Castle walls or visit the Cathedral or  
simply enjoy the spectacular views.  Tickets may be bought in the Sala  
Eurostar in the main railway station and cost 5.20 Euro, with children  
under 10 travelling free.
Trieste by Boat
There are now several boat trips operating locally for the summer  
season: Trieste - Muggia, Trieste - Barcola - Grignano (see the  
following web site for timetables and prices:

Please note that all these boat trips within the Province of Trieste  
are free of charge to those who hold an annual or monthly "rete"  
transport ticket.  So you can travel as far as Muggia and Duino free.
The Delfino Verde boat has also just starting operating the route
