This is a self-contained mini-course to introduce important analytic
algorithms in computational number theory. The emphasis will be on
well-known formulas and methods of interest in the theory of the Riemann
zeta function. Starting with the Riemann-Siegel formula
to numerically compute zeta, followed by methods for verifying the
Riemann hypothesis including Turing’s method, and concluding with
conjectures about statistics of zeta zeros inspired by Random matrix
theory. Hoping to emphasize hands-on learning and provide sample
mini-projects. Basic familiarity with mathematical software, such as
Mathematica, will be helpful.
*Certificates will be provided by the end of the course based on attendance

Dear Colleagues,
During the week of October 17, 2022, the Center for Advanced
Mathematical Sciences (CAMS) has the pleasure of hosting Prof.Ghaith
Hiary

Ohio State University, USA). His research interests are in analytic
number theory and computational mathematics.
Prof. Hiary will deliver a mini-course entitled “*/The Riemann Zeta
Function Conjectures and Computations/*” aiming to introduce important
analytic algorithms in computational number theory. It is geared towards
students in mathematics, computer science, and electrical engineering
but is open to anyone who is intrigued enough about computational
approaches to number theory, whether investigating longstanding
conjectures or exploring applications to cryptography.
The mini-course will be held on*October 18, 19, and 20, 2022 [4:00 pm –
5:00 pm] at College Hall, Auditorium B1*. Registration is required at
the followinglink
