Speaker: Antonio Lerario (Institut Camille Jordan, Lyon)

Title: Intrinsic volumes of sets of singular singular matrices.

Abstract: I will show how to compute the intrinsic volume of the set of 
real (resp. real symmetric and skew-symmetric) matrices with Frobenius 
norm one and fixed corank (the case of matrices with determinant zero as 
a special case).

The methods use a nice combination of Weyl's tube formula, Eckart-Young 
theorem and some random matrices.
