CoNISMa established the *Prize "Francesco Maria Faranda" i*n memory of 
the founder of *CoNISMa*, to award young researchers through a 
competition that will take place every two years.
The prize is destined for *young researchers* engaged in 
interdisciplinary research and, preferably, with a holistic approach, in 
the field of Marine Sciences.
The Second Edition is organized with the scientific and organizational 
support of the *European Marine Board* and the awards ceremony will take 
place on the afternoon of October 9, 2014, during the side event 
organized by CoNISMa  in occasion of *EUROCEAN2014 Conference*, to be 
held in Rome next October 7-9, 2014.
The amount of the Faranda Prize is *5.000,00 euro *and will be awarded 
to the first author of the best scientific article submitted with the 
application. Furthermore, *the first authors of the top 10 articles will 
be awarded grants of 500,00 euro each, and free registration for the 
Rome EUROCEAN2014 Conference*.
