ABSTRACT
The quantum group covariant quantization of the chiral parts of the 2D 
Wess-Zumino-Novikov-Witten (WZNW) model on a compact group G can be 
considered in a setting generalizing the axiomatic approach to gauge 
theories. The degrees of freedom responsible for the internal symmetry 
give rise to an operator matrix Q. We study, in the case of G=SU(n), the 
algebra of its matrix elements which encodes the information about the 
WZNW fusion rules.
