" The mathematics of poker: Game theory "

 Abstract

Game theory is relatively modern branch of mathematics with many applications, for instance, in economics, biology and poker. We'll describe some basic models of game theory, in particular exactly solvable games that can be used as toy model of poker situations: 'game of chicken', the 'AKQ game' (in its basic Borel and Von Neumann versions, plus some non trivial extensions), the [0,1]-game, and the No Limit Holdem Jam-or-Fold heads up game (both in cash game and tournaments). The two seminars will not assume any previous knowledge in game theory or poker.
