*2010 Ramanujan Prize *

We take pleasure in announcing that the

2010 Ramanujan Prize for Young Mathematicians from Developing Countries 
will be awarded to

*Professor Yuguang Shi*

School of Mathematical Sciences, Peking University

China

The prize is in recognition of Professor Shi's outstanding contributions 
to the geometry of complete (noncompact) Riemannian manifolds - 
specifically on the positivity of quasi-local mass and rigidity of 
asymptotically hyperbolic manifolds.

The prize is also in acknowledgement of the substantial contribution 
that Professor Shi has made to mathematics in China through over 15 
years of teaching and research.

The Ramanujan Prize is supported financially by the Norwegian Niels 
Henrik Abel Memorial Fund, with the participation of the International 
Mathematical Union.
