Title: Osculating lines of hypersurfaces.

Abstract:  Fix a hypersurface X in complex projective space P and an 
integer k > 1.  At every point x in X, let C(x,d) denote the 
projective variety of lines in P that osculate with X to order k at 
x.  The infinitesimal variation of C(x,d) is governed by a system of 
partial differential equations.  I will describe this system and some 
of its consequences.


Venue: Seminar Room of the Dept of Mathematics and Informatics (H2 
building, Via Valerio 12/1, 3rd floor).
