"Universality of the spectral statistics in Random Matrix theory: old and new results"


Abstract.
In this introductory expose' I will explain what are questions of universality 
in the spectral statistics of random matrices (typically the one-matrix model) 
and their relation to the asymptotic (scaled) analysis of certain orthogonal 
polynomials.
