[RegCNET] potential/"normal" temperature mismatch

Dear RegCM users,
i am digging the code a bit in order to achieve better understanding what
is passed to the BATS surface scheme.
I found that in version 4.4.5.5. (Main/batslib/mod_bats_common.F90) the
potential temperature is passed.
call c2l_gs(lndcomm,lm%thatm,ts0) (where lm%thatm carries atms%thx3d)
In the latest version 4.4.5.8. this is changed to
call c2l_gs(lndcomm,lm%sfta,ts0), (where m%sfta carries atms%ts2d, i.e.
"normal" temperature.
The same is true for versions 4.5-rc5 compared to version 4.5-rc10.
In both cases (whether theta or t are passed to BATS), they are treated as
temperature in further.
Am I missing something?
Thanks a lot for the clarification!
With kind regards
Peter
