[RegCNET] Climate modelling/RegCM4

Dear Ladies an Gentlemen,
 

my Name is Hannah Graen, studying the M.Sc. "Environmental Science and Nature Conservation" at the University of Hildesheim, Germany. Currently I am working at my Master Thesis, which is embedded in the research project "Influence of Grazing, Soil, Relief and Climate Chance on the Biodiversity of Asinara National Park (Sardinia)". The project is in collaboration with the National Park of Asinara.
Therefor, I collected climate data and now try to generate a microclimatic structure of the island of Asinara. Later on, based on this data, the possible future climate development for Asinara should be modelled. As a working climate model is required for this Project, I looked for this and came across the RegCM4 climate model. By inquiring the ICTP for more Information, they referred me to you.
 
So I would like to ask you, if the RegCM4 model is available for me and, if it is, you can tell me, what I need apart from the model to generate a future climate modelling? Further I need to know if is it even possible to run the model on a normal computer or if the capacity would be much too low for this purpose. And is the RegCM4 even suitable for the region of Italy/Sardinia/Asinara?
