[RegCNET] TOTAL PRECIPITATION CALCULATION

Dear
all
This is Suman Maity from IIT KHARAGPUR, INDIA.I want to know the how to
calculate the total precipitation from RegCM4.1 output.From the surface
model output, there is a variable "*tpr*" whose unit is kg/m2/day.My
surface model output frequency is 3 hourly. I have applied the formula to
plot in grads say for the month june:
ga> d sum(tpr,t=1,t=120)/8
Is it ok? If not then how to do it?
