[RegCNET] model vertical level

Dear RegCM users,

I
have a question about the regcm output vertical level. I understand
that regcm output is in sigma levels and after translating to the
pressure level also it gives output values at 1000 hPa for High
altitude regions like The Himalayas. But for echam output, which is on
hybrid levels when translated to pressure levels does not give values
for lower levels over Himalayas. Both outputs were precessed with CDO.
What makes the difference and how one can process the REGCM output as
that of echam (please see the attahced figure) to get void regions
below orography. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

ncdump -h regcm.nc gives

 double lon(lon) ;
                lon:standard_name = "longitude" ;
                lon:long_name = "longitude" ;
                lon:units = "degrees_east" ;
                lon:axis = "X" ;
        double lat(lat) ;
                lat:standard_name = "latitude" ;
                lat:long_name = "latitude" ;
                lat:units = "degrees_north" ;
                lat:axis = "Y" ;
        double lev(lev) ;
                lev:standard_name = "air_pressure" ;
                lev:long_name = "pressure" ;
                lev:units = "Pa" ;
                lev:positive = "down" ;
                lev:axis = "Z" ;
        double time(time) ;
                time:standard_name = "time" ;
                time:units = "hours since 1997-10-01 03:00:00" ;
                time:calendar = "proleptic_gregorian" ;
ncdump -h echam.nc gives

double lon(lon) ;
                lon:long_name = "longitude" ;
                lon:units = "degrees_east" ;
                lon:standard_name = "longitude" ;
        double lat(lat) ;
                lat:long_name = "latitude" ;
                lat:units = "degrees_north" ;
                lat:standard_name = "latitude" ;
        double lev(lev) ;
                lev:long_name = "pressure" ;
                lev:units = "Pa" ;
                lev:axis = "z" ;
        double time(time) ;
                time:units = "day as %Y%m%d.%f" ;
                time:calendar = "proleptic_gregorian" ;

Thanks,
