[RegCNET] the relationship between non-convective rainfall and large scale cloudniess

Dear All,

I have a question about SUBEX.

In Grell scheme, more convective rainfall is followed by
increasing convective cloudiness. This is can be concluded from cup.F.

However, in SUBEX, more larger scale precipitation seems
correspond to less large scale cloud, which can be concluded from formula
(4) in Pal et al.(2000).

I wonder whether my understanding is correct or not, and how to
explain more cloud corresponds to less large scale precipitation.

       Thank you very much!

      Liwei
