You mean add model layers, YES, it's doable. In PreProc/Terrain/terrain.f,
SUBROUTINE OUTPUT2, you can add the number of vertical layers in if-block
if(kz.eq.14) then
......
else if .....
endif
or even change the position of layers position.

Yes, at ICBC step, RegCM prefer pressure level fields. I suppose the
postcessing code of Eta model should provide this function.
By the way, please raise question just to regcnet at lists.ictp.it and not
include my email, because it would add pressure to me :)
