Vilhelm Bjerknes Fellow in Earth System Physics at the ICTP, Trieste, 
Italy

To foster research in physics, ICTP (Trieste, Italy) has initiated a
new programme of Senior Postdoctoral Fellowship.
One of such fellowship is in Earth system Physics (ESP) including
the following areas

- Coupled Climate System modeling from regional to global scale
- Anthropogenic Climate Change
- Natural Climate Variability and Predictability (seasonal to decadal 
timescale)
- Cloud Physics, including interaction ith chemistry and aereosol
- Climate Impacts
- Ecological Modeling and biogeochemical cycles
- Socio-economic aspect of climate change
- Oceanography and marine biology
- Paleoclimate
- Mechanics of earthquakes and of volcanic eruptions and
     lithospheric deformation


The appointment will be for an initial period of three years
extendable for an additional two years upon mutual agreement and
availability of funds. The monthly take-home salary ranges from Euro
2,500 to Euro 3,000, depending on seniority.

Candidates should have at least one previous postdoctoral experience
and carry out very active and independent research in the area.

- Three letters of recommendation (which must be appended directly on-line by 
the signatory)
