[RegCNET] Initializing RegCM with ECHAM5 data

Dear RegCM Users,

I am trying to initialize RegCM with ECHAM5 data downloaded from the
CERA database. I searched through previous posts on the subject and I
found that there is a patch that reads the ECHAM5 grib data. I
downloaded the patch from
http://www.be.itu.edu.tr/~u.utku.turuncoglu/part1/mm5/files/regcm3.patch.13072007.tar,
looked at the scripts, but I still have a couple of questions related
to the process:

1. Is this the most recent patch? Are these changes included in the
latest RegCM tar file?

2. The files that I downloaded from CERA are on a monthly basis for
each individual variable at a single vertical level, for example for
January 2010:
      EH5_OM_A2_1_RELHUM100.201001.grb
      EH5_OM_A2_1_RELHUM150.201001.grb
      ..........

Is this the right format or do I need to combine all vertical levels
for each individual variable in a single file?
