Another followup is that the intel compilerare packaged on some linux distributions, so check around and make see if they are provided. It will be a lot easier to install them prepackaged then to build by hand. On my machine (a Gentoo box) it was a single command "emerge ifc icc"

ps:I mentioned to Bedassa offline that gfortran was also available, but required patching the RegCM source.

That is great, well done. Beddasa! We have two appropriate compilers for RegCM model run, for the time being use Intel FORTRAN Compiler (IFC) . You can download from http://www.intel.com/software/products/compilers/flin/noncom.htm
Which is a tar file l_fc_p_8.0.034.tar.gz. You can get the installation procedure from Google too.
For running the model GRADS is not used. It is used for graphical display of the model results. For the time being concentrate on installing IFC and try to run the model. After running and getting some result displaying it using GRADS is simple.
