Dear Yan and Jeremy:
	It might be worth knowing that several models have trouble 
simulating Amazonia.  I have seen some results comparing latent heat 
flux from RegCM3 and some other RCMs with observations from the 
Pantanal GEWEX reference site, and they are all low in their daily 
max by at least a factor of 2.  RegCM3 is lower still, but not the 
lowest.    It would be interesting to see what AOGCMs do.  There 
appear to be some generic modeling issues here.
