Nelle giornate di sabato 19 e domenica 20 settembre, il Gruppo
Speleologico San Giusto organizza l’illuminazione della grotta
Valentina (Visogliano, Sistiana).

Le visite non richiedono particolari conoscenze speleo-alpinistiche e
sono adatte ad ogni età.

Non si tratta però di una grotta turistica, nonostante venga
illuminata artificialmente per l’occasione: la visita, infatti,
sisvolgerà come una vera e propria discesa speleologica in uno dei
moltissimi ipogei del nostro territorio, permettendovi di vivere una
esperienza unica ed emozionante. Fatta eccezione per la presenza di
alcune brevi scalette metalliche, posizionate lungo il percorso nei
passaggi più delicati, la cavità si presenta ancora nelle condizioni
in cui si trovava al momento della sua prima esplorazione. Per un
breve tratto sarà necessario avanzare carponi per cui è consigliato
avere con se' un ricambio completo di indumenti, nonché calzature
adatte ad un percorso moderatamente accidentato ed umido.
L’indispensabile caschetto protettivo verrà fornito dal GSSG.

La visita e l'utilizzo del materiale fornito sono gratuiti,
ma sono bene accetti contributi spontanei.

On Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 September, the San Giusto Speleological Group
organises the artificial illumination of the cave "Valentina"
(Visogliano, Sistiana).

The visit does not require any mountaineering or speleological
knowledge or expertise. In spite of being illuminated for this occasion,
however, the cave is *not* an equipped touristic one such as, for
example, Grotta
Gigante or others in Slovenia. In fact, the visit will take place as a
genuine speleological exploration, a unique and exciting experience:
apart from some short metallic ladders the cave is still in
the same conditions as it was when explored for the first time.
For a short stretch it will be necessary to crawl and proceed on your
hands and knees and therefore it is recommended that you take with you
a complete change of clothes and that you wear running shoes or hiking
boots, as you will have to walk on a moderately irregular and slippery
ground.
The necessary protective helmet will be provided by the speleological 
group.

The visit and the usage of the helmet are free: voluntary contributions
are, however, always welcome.
