Science Festival This Weekend

Dear Colleagues,

This weekend, ICTP and TWAS will participate in Trieste's annual public 
science festival, TriesteNext.

The event starts Friday 25 September and ends Sunday 27 September. This 
year's theme is "Science for the Planet". Activities will be centred 
around Piazza Unita, where gazebos will be set up for displays by 
Trieste Science institutes, ICTP and TWAS included. Opening hours for 
the gazebos are Friday from 9 to 22:00, Saturday from 10 to 22:00, and 
Sunday from 10 to 20:00.

There will also be an "Area Talk" for science talks. Amongst the 
speakers will be ICTP's Filippo Giorgi, who will participate in a panel 
discussion on global warming; the session begins at 16:30 on Saturday 26

Entrance to TriesteNext is free, and Covid restrictions including social 
distancing will be enforced. Please note that many activities require 
pre-registration.
