Tomorrow (9 May), SISSA will be hosting an event that highlights the
importance of networking among female scientists. Titled "When women in
science get together: The role of networks", the all-day conference will
serve as a platform to discuss the current situation of women networks
in science as well as major challenges and advancements. The event will
be opened by Marica Branchesi, astrophysicist from the Gran Sasso
Science Institute of L’Aquila, with the talk "Women in AstroPhysics: the
new exploration of the Universe through gravitational waves." She was
recently nominated among the 100 most influential people by Time
magazine and, in 2017, among the 10 most influential scientists by the
magazine Nature for her contribution to the discovery of gravitational
waves.

The programme for the event is available at
https://www.sissa.it/news/international-manifesto-promote-role-women-science.
It is free and open to the public. All talks are in English.

The SISSA event will be held at its campus on via Bonomea 265, in rooms
128-129. ICTP staff and scientists who would like to attend can reach
SISSA's campus by taking the free shuttle that departs from ICTP's
