CLASSICAL MUSIC*

*Verdi Symphony Orchestra concert season: Friday 15 and Saturday 16 Oct: 
Music by Sibelius and Strauss, directed by Julian Kovatchev. *There is a 
50% reduction on tickets purchased "last minute" (one hour before the 
show) for all performances directly at the Verdi's ticket office. You

info for last minute seats availability. Only for the Sat afternoon

ART EXHIBITION*

*Miramare Castle Special: *On the occasion of the 150 anniversary of the 
Castle, every last Tuesday of the month of Oct (26), Nov (23) and Dec 
(28) the Castle will be open to visitors at night from 19:00 - 23:00 
with free entrance and free guided tours to the art Exhibition "Il Bacio 
"by Francesco Hayez (at 19:00, 20:00, 21:00 and 22:00).

Cavour & Trieste at the San Giusto Castle ongoing until June 2011 
(*Piazza della Cattedrale 3, bus 24 from Train Station). The exhibition 
highlights the special relationship Cavour had with the city of Trieste, 
his stay in 1836, and the political and economic importance of the city 
used as a model for Europe's modernization in the 19th century. Entrance 
ticket euro 5 (opening times in October 9 - 19 and Nov - March 9:00 -

Revoltella Museum History of Art Courses starting on 13 October and 
ongoing until January (timings 17:30 -18:30): *This year the Museum is 
offering to the general* public a *series of 24 lectures held by 
specialists on the history of art (from the Middle Ages to the 19th 
century) and some special lectures on the "Liberty" period in Italy, 
"Art and the Italian Unification", "Portraits and Self-Portaits, "Art 
and Fashion". All lectures will be held in the Auditorium and the total 
cost for the whole academic year is 15 euro/pers to be paid directly at 
the Revoltella's ticket office. There are 170 places available and will 
be allocated on a first-come first-served basis. You will receive a 
membership card that will entitle you to enter freely to all exhibitions

Mirò, "Il Poeta del Colore" *(the poet of colours) ongoing until 7 
November at the Scuderie di Miramare (ex-horse stables of the Miramare 
Castle close to the main entrance gate). The exhibition is a collection 
of Mirò's art prints, lithographs, watercolours combined with poetic 
verses by the artist himself. Open from Tues - Sun 10:00 - 18:30.

FREE GUIDED WALKS:*

Lions Club Miramar Trieste organises a Walking in James Joyce's 
footsteps in Trieste. *The initiative - in English language - is 
dedicated to students, researchers and their families.* The cultural 
walk will be held on *15^th October 2010*, it will be begin at 5 p.m. 
from Piazza Unità d'Italia and it will end at 6.30 p.m. in Piazza del 
Ponterosso. After the walk, the Lions Club Miramar Trieste will offer

*Guided Walk to Mount Lanaro on Sunday 17 Oct. It is *a Natural Reserve 
Park situated in the Carso to the north of Opicina, 545 m above sea 
level, mostly covered by forest. From there you can enjoy an incredible 
view of the area. The guided tour is in Italian and *will focus on 
discovering the fruits and plants of the Carso, their botanical 
characteristics, their history and legends. **The walk is accessible to 
all (provided you wear good walking shoes) and will take 3 hours (9:30 - 
13:00). The meeting point with the guided is fixed at 9:15 in the main

The British Film Club in Trieste will start its seasonal projections in 
November at the Ariston Cinema in Viale Romolo Gessi 14 (Buses 8, 9,
