EXHIBITIONS IN TRIESTE*
*"Looks like we've been here before" *Inauguration on Saturday 18 Dec.
at 19.00 at Trieste Contemporanea - via del Monte, 2 behind Corso Italia
downtown - of solo art show by Serbian Artist Dusica Drazic who has won
the prize for Young Emerging Artists Trieste Contemporanea 2010
competition. The show will be on until 16 February 2011, Mondays through

"*La Coscienza di Tullio*" Sat 18 Dec at 17.30 in Palazzo Gopcevich (via
Rossini, canale Ponterosso) an exhibit about the famous Triestine movie
critic Tullio Kezich who passed away last year at 81 yrs of age. There
is a display of photos, posters, letters and personal objects. He worked
in the past with some leading Italian film producers.
*"Merry ChristmART 2010" Arte sotto l'Arco* (ART below the Ancient Roman
Arch of RICCARDO) in the antique area of Trieste, midway up via San
Michele. Group art shows held in the following locations: the Arco di
Riccardo Restaurant, Atelier CARPE DIEM, MetroKubo, ERDISU, Bar Barbacan
and Associazione Euterpe e Clio. The shows will be on until 31 Dec. Free
entrance to all locations.
*"Dalla Metafisica all'Arte" (from metaphysics to Art). Exhibit by
Giorgio De Chirico on at the "Scuderie del Castello di Miramare"
(*Miramare Castle "horse stables" - converted in an exhibition hall -
before the main entrance of the Castle on viale Miramare). The
exhibition presents 90 works tracing the artist's creativity. There is
also a solo exhibition of the artist Fabio Mauri "Un Sognatore della
Ragione" (a dreamer of the reason) with 5 installations and paintings of
the Fifties. At the Miramare Castle, there is another exhibition of
contemporary artists inspired by De Chirico's works: "Gli Specchi
dell'Anima. Artisti intorno a De Chirico" (the Mirrors of the Soul,
Artists close to De Chirico), to name a few: Adami, Ceroli, Chia, De
Dominicis, Natham, Schifano. The exhibition is open every day from 9:00
- 19:00. Entrance ticket euro 8. Ongoing until 27 February 2011.
*THEATRE & Classical, spiritual, jazz MUSIC*
*Tonite 16 Dec "XXXII FESTIVAL OF TRIESTINE SONGS" at 20.30 in TEATRO
MIELA in *Piazza Luigi Amedeo Duca degli Abruzzi, 3 (5 minutes from the
central train station downtown). Entrance: euro 10/head. For info call

*Tonite 16 Dec "CONTINENTS", a multicultural event at 20.30 in
Stabilimento Ausonia, *in Riva Traiana 1, (all the way to the end of the
seafront downtown) with free Chinese buffet dinner*. *There will be
photographs and a documentary on China with the presence of Hu Feng Mei
who represents the Chinese association in Turin. Another documentary*
*by Maurizio Giacomini is on migrations from this region and vice versa.
The evening will be celebrated with the rythm of Afrobeat, Hip Hop and
R'nB music by two Cameroon DJs.

*Christmas Concert* by Senior Citizens on *Fri 17 Dec at 20.30 *by the
Polo di Aggregazione Giovanile in Via del Castello 1, San Giusto. The
Choir of Trieste directed by Master Edda Calvano
*"Rock n' roll before Elvis Presley", *at the contemporary Cafe'
Rossetti (Largo Gaber, 2 , in the same building as the Rossetti theatre
in Viale) on *Fri 17 Dec at 22.00 *by popular jazz pianist STEFANO
FRANCO & FLAMPET HORNES. They will play the mainstream jazz hits and his
brass band will give the best of themselves for an enjoyable evening out.
Telethon campaign: Show for *Telethon's Solidarity Marathon* on Sat 18
Dec from 17.00 onwards at the Banca Nazionale del Lavoro in Piazza
Ponterosso. Telethon is an organization that contributes to research on
genetic sicknesses and funds will be raised on the occasion. A show and
presentations by the head of the Association and by other scientific
guests: prof. Andres Fernando Muro, researcher at ICGEB, Stefano
Gustincich, SISSA and performances by showman Andro Merku', presenter
jazz by Andrea Massaria, presenter Daunia Delben, and many others.
*Concert "From the Blues to jazz to classical music" at *Restaurant Arco

*Tartini Music Conservatory Concert "Christmas Concert" on Monday 20 Dec
at 20.30. *The Conservatory is situated in* *via Ghega 12, close to the

*Special Christmas Run (5 km) **from the Fountain of Barcola to Piazza
Unita'on Sun 19 Dec . *Meeting point: 9.30 am in Piazza Unita' where
runners will hop on a bus at 9.45 that will take them to the starting
point. Otherwise, meet at the Fountain in Barcola at 10.30 and run to
piazza Unita'. Signing up Costs: 7 euros on Sat 18 Dec and 10 euros on
Sun 19 Dec.

*OUTSIDE TRIESTE*
*In Muggia on Monday 20 Dec. at 19.30 "Natale in Musica 2010" *(2010
Christmas with music) in the main church in Muggia. Popular classical
singers soprano *Loredana Pellizzari* and tenor *Massimo Marsi* will
sing spiritual music pieces by Schubert, Bizet, Morricone and Adam. They
will be accompanied by the Gruppo Strumentale Lumen Harmonicum and will
also play pieces by Triestine authors from the 1800s to 2000.**
*"Munch e Lo Spirit del Nord", Villa Manin in Passeriano di Codroipo in
the Province of Udine. *For the first time in Italy, "Munch and the
Spirit of the North. Scandinavia in the Second Half of the Nineteenth
Century" aims to piece together a story that identifies the spirit of
the North in painting in Norway, Sweden, Finland and Denmark. The
exhibition, composed of approximately 120 paintings on loan from
Scandinavian museums in particular, but also from several other European
and American museums, focuses chiefly on landscapes, although it also
features a good number of portraits and figural works. Ongoing until 6
