                           ITALIAN LANGUAGE COURSE AT ICTP
                               ACADEMIC YEAR 2007/08

ICTP is offering Italian language courses for its visiting scientists
and staff.  Family members are welcome. The courses are free and
primarily intended for those staying in Trieste for 2 - 3 months or
more.
All classes are held in the Seminar Room in the Main Building.
Course A1 and B1 start on Monday 17 September, Course C/G starts on
Tuesday 18 September, see timetable below.
To register for the course, please come to the classes at the indicated
hours and speak to the language teacher. You may also contact her by
e-mail.

SISSA will shortly decide on its participation in the language courses,
and subject to the confirmation, the classes will also be open for
visiting scientists and staff of SISSA.
Persons from other institutions interested in participating in the
courses may be allowed so, depending on the available capacity, and
subject to prior agreement with ICTP Administration (their hosting
institution should normally contribute to the costs of the courses)



                           COURSE A1
                                50 hours
Ab initio course, for persons with no knowledge of Italian.
Participants must purchase the book "La lingua
italiana per stranieri". The cost is 20 euro,  and is provided
by the teacher.
Starting:  17 September 2007
Duration:  3 months, 4 hours/week
Timetable: Monday     17.00/18.30
             Tuesday    19.30/20.30
             Thursday   17.00/18.30
(Similar courses, A2 and A3 will start in January and March 2008)


                               COURSE  B
                               100 hours

A comprenhensive course, starting from ab initio, of Italian grammar for
persons staying in Trieste for longer periods.
Participants must purchase the book "La lingua
italiana per stranieri". The cost is 20 euro, and is provided
by the teacher.
Starting:  17 September 2007
Duration:  8 months, 3 hours/week
Timetable:  Monday     18.30/20.00
              Thursday   18.20/20.00


                             COURSE C/G
                              60 hours

Course of conversation and grammar for persons that already have some
knowledge of Italian, wishing to practice and improve their skills.
Starting:   18 September 2007
Duration:   9 months, 2 hours/week
Timetable:  Tuesday  17.30/19.30
