Free-time activities
A R T & E X H I B I T I O N S
New Exhibition in the Museo Sveviano (piazza Hortis 4) entitled "Se hai
tempo fatti fotografare" (If you have time have your photo taken). A
photographic biography of Italo Svevo. Open until 11 September 2006
Mon-Sat 10-13 and Sunday 10-12. Free entrance.
Exhibition in the ballroom of the Revoltella Museum (via Diaz, 27)
entitled "Preview - Andy Warhol's Timeboxes". Open until 18 July 2006
as an introduction to the main exhibition which will open on 21 July in
the renovated fish market (ex-pescheria) in Trieste. E-mail

display here are part of the "Campbell's soup" group, dedicated to
industry in Pittsburgh, Warhol's home town, which was a recurring
source of inspiration in his work.
Photographic exhibition at the Teatro Miela entitled "Eredi del
silenzio" which consists of over 50 photographs of scenes from Cambodia
illustrating the lasting effects of war on everyday life. Open until

Exhibition in Galleria Lipanjepuntin Arte Contemporanea, via Diaz 4
entitled U2 & i by the photographer Anton Corbijn. A series of shots
of the rock band taken over the years. Open until 11 April 2006

C H I L D R E N's A C T I V I T I E S
L'Immaginario Scientifico
This science museum (located on the ground floor level of the Adriatico
Hotel, entrance at the rear of the hotel, opposite the 36 bus stop) has
exhibits which are particularly suitable for children.
A children's laboratory will be held on Sunday from 15.45-16.45 for
those aged 4-7 and from 15:30-17:00 for 8-11 year olds. This week,
both groups will be making rockets and missiles. You can book by

F A I R S & M A R K E T S
Mostra Mercato d'Arte Antica - Antique Fair
At the Fiera di Udine from 18-26 March 2006 from 10-20 on Saturday and
Sunday and from 15-20 on weekdays, there will be the Antique Fair
"Tesori d'Epoca".
Flea Market
On Sunday 19 March 2006, there will be the monthly flea market in
Trieste town centre. All sorts of antiques and bric a brac will be on
sale all day in the roads of the old town behind Piazza della Borsa
near the Roman Theatre (Teatro Romano).
M U S I C
Jazz Music Concert
On Saturday 18 March 2006 at 21:30 in the Al Porton Wine Bar (in Largo
Santorio, near piazza Goldoni), there will be a jazz concert in
collaboration with Umbria Jazz by the Steve Grossman Trio, whose leader
has worked lots in the past with Miles Davis, amongst others.
S P O R T
Ice-Skating
An ice-skating rink is open at the Fiera buildings until the end of
March in piazzale de Gasperi (bus 18 from piazza della Borsa). Opening
hours will be Monday-Friday 14-22 and Saturday and Sunday 10-22. The
cost is 6 euro (including hire of skates) or 3 euro if you take your
own skates.
T O U R S
Trieste by Bus
Every Saturday a bus leaves for a tour of Trieste from in front of the
train station at 14.00. It takes in all of the main sights to see
downtown, and there is also a 30-minute stop at St. Giusto Castle,
where you can walk along the Castle walls or visit the Cathedral or
simply enjoy the spectacular views. Tickets may be bought in the Sala
Eurostar in the main railway station and cost 5.20 Euro, with children
under 10 travelling free.
