A R T & E X H I B I T I O N S
On Saturday 4 March, the exhibition of contemporary art entitled "Segni
d'Amore", of work by 25 artists closes and there will be a charity
auction of the paintings, which have been donated by the artists,
starting at 15:00 in the Casa d'Aste Stadion auction house (Riva
Nazario Sauro 6/A). The proceeds will go to the Associazione Amici
Hospice Pineta, which cares for the terminally ill.
Exhibition by the artist Mery Tortolini ongoing in the basement of the
Adriatico Guesthouse until 10 March 2006.
Exhibition in Galleria Lipanjepuntin Arte Contemporanea, via Diaz 4
entitled U2 & i by the photographer Anton Corbijn. A series of shots
of the rock band taken over the years. Open until 11 April 2006

Inauguration on Saturday 4 March at 16 in the caffe' Tommaseo (piazza
Tommaseo 4/c) of the exhibition by the local artist Maria Pancrazi of
her watercolours. There will also be a performance by the accordion
player Roberto Daris. Open until 19 March.
Inauguration on Saturday 4 March at 17:30 in the Galleria Poliedro in
via del Bosco 30/A of an exhibition of paintings by six triestine
artists entitled "Fiori e Paesaggio" (Flowers and Landscapes). Open
until 17 march from 10:30-12:30 and 17:30-19:30.
An exhibition entitled "Una Citta' a bordo" traces Trieste's
traditional link with cruise ships over the past 90 years. Open every
day from 10-19 in the Sala del Ridotto at the Teatro Verdi until Sunday
5 March.
C H I L D R E N's A C T I V I T I E S
L'Immaginario Scientifico
This science museum (located on the ground floor level of the Adriatico
Hotel, entrance at the rear of the hotel, opposite the 36 bus stop) has
exhibits which are particularly suitable for children.
A children's laboratory will be held on Sunday from 15.45-16.45 for
those aged 4-7 and from 15:30-17:00 for 8-11 year olds. You can book

This is also the penultimate weekend to see the Cosmica exhibition.
Open on Sunday only from 10-20.
C U L T U R E
Book presentation
On Friday 3 March at 17 in the auditorium of the Revoltella museum in
via Diaz 27, the book "L'Universo di Margherita" will be presented by
the journalist Simona Regina. The authors, Simona Cerrato and
Margherita Hack, will also be present.
M U S I C
Jazz concert
On Saturday 4 March at 20:30 in the auditorium of the Revoltella museum
in via Diaz 27, there will be a jazz concert by the Mamasaal Quartet.
S P O R T
Ice-Skating
An ice-skating rink is open at the Fiera buildings until the end of
March in piazzale de Gasperi (bus 18 from piazza della Borsa). Opening
hours will be Monday-Friday 14-22 and Saturday and Sunday 10-22. The
cost is 6 euro (including hire of skates) or 3 euro if you take your
own skates.
T O U R S
Trieste by Bus
Every Saturday a bus leaves for a tour of Trieste from in front of the
train station at 14.00. It takes in all of the main sights to see
downtown, and there is also a 30-minute stop at St. Giusto Castle,
where you can walk along the Castle walls or visit the Cathedral or
simply enjoy the spectacular views. Tickets may be bought in the Sala
Eurostar in the main railway station and cost 5.20 Euro, with children
under 10 travelling free.
