Dear Colleague,

As part of the Theory Meets Experiments series , the Galileo Galilei
Institute (GGI) is organizing a *two-week school focused on Direct
Detection of Dark Matter across various mass ranges*.

📅 *Dates:* *November 10–21, 2025*
📍 *Location:* GGI, Florence, Italy
🔗 *Website & Application:* https://www.ggi.infn.it/showevent.pl?id=529
🗓️ *Application Deadline:* *October 5, 2025*

This school is aimed at both *PhD students in theory and experiment*,
and will provide a comprehensive foundation in dark matter direct
detection. It will cover:

*

Experimental techniques across mass ranges

*

Theoretical models and production mechanisms

*

Tools to calculate dark matter scattering rates

*

Strategies to connect theoretical predictions with experimental
observables

By bridging theory and experiment, the school seeks to define clear,
actionable targets for the next generation of dark matter searches.

Confirmed Lecturers:

*

Marco Selvi (INFN Bologna)

*

Francesco D'Eramo (Università di Padova)

*

Marco Gorghetto (DESY)

*

Paolo Gorla (LNGS)

*

Surjeet Rajendran (Johns Hopkins)

*

Chiara Salemi (Berkeley)

*

Caterina Braggio (Università di Padova)

*

Belina von Krosigk (Heidelberg)

📄 The full program is available here (PDF)
<https://www.ggi.infn.it/eventfiles/programs/prog529.pdf> and is also
attached for your reference.

We warmly encourage applications from students in both theory and
experiment to foster the interdisciplinary collaboration essential for
advancing dark matter research.

Best regards,

Laura Baudis (University of Zurich),
Itay Bloch (Berkeley),
Diego Redigolo (INFN Florence),
Jure Zupan (University of Cincinnati)
