Winners of the latest Advanced Grant competition announced
The grants - totalling €721 million - will support 281 leading
researchers across Europe. The funding will give senior researchers the
opportunity to pursue ambitious projects that could lead to major
scientific breakthroughs.

Report: ERC Proof of Concept Grants
ERC Proof of Concept (PoC) grants help ERC grantees explore the
potential of their discoveries. A new report reviewing 1700 projects
(2014 - 2023) finds that, with just 1% of the ERC’s total budget (€259
million), PoC funding has enabled remarkable results in early innovation
and cross-sector impact.

ERC grantee wins EMBO Gold Medal 2025
Dr David Bikard, from Institut Pasteur in France, was awarded the Gold
Medal for his pioneering work on gene editing. He won an ERC
Consolidator Grant in 2021.

Visits to Lithuania and Estonia
Maria Leptin visited Vilnius and Tallinn on 10 and 11 June, meeting with
the respective prime ministers of both countries and other ministers, as
well as ERC grantees and the research community. Her visits included
public events in both countries of which some can still be watched. Find
