The programme sets out the funding opportunities, call budgets, the 
calendar for the calls for proposals and some revised conditions for ERC 
funding.

        New Scientific Council member

The European Commission appointed Professor Conny Aerts from the 
Institute of Astronomy at KU Leuven as a new member of the Scientific 
Council, the governing body of the ERC.

        10 July | Webinar on 2026 grant competitions

This live webinar is tailored for researchers new to ERC grants. It will 
present the latest updates, including funding opportunities, budget 
allocations, the application calendar, and eligibility conditions. A 
second webinar tailored for researchers familiar with ERC grants and 
research support staff will take place on 11 September.

        23-25 June | Scientific Council in the UK

The Scientific Council held its plenary meeting in Durham, marking its 
first UK meeting since the ERC's establishment in 2007. The visit 
featured a seminar with grantees highlighting their research and a tour 
of laboratories and facilities in Durham.

        UPDATE – Survey announcement: Help evaluate the ERC Executive Agency

Horizon Europe beneficiaries, applicants, and experts will soon receive 
an email invitation to participate in an online survey assessing the ERC 
Executive Agency's work. This is a re-run of a survey launched this 
spring which did not generate sufficient responses. All are kindly asked 
to complete it again.
