        EU and Singapore open exploratory talks on association to
        Horizon Europe

The European Commission and the Singaporean Government launched 
exploratory discussions in view of Singapore’s possible association to 
Horizon Europe, the EU’s research and innovation programme. The two 
sides will now enter a series of technical discussions to look at the 
main parameters and principles of a future association agreement before 
deciding whether to engage in official negotiations.

Iliana Ivanova, Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, 
Education and Youth, said:

    “The EU is looking to build alliances with the global leaders that
    are strong in research and innovation and that share our values and
    priorities. This is why I warmly welcome Singapore’s interest in a
    possible association to Horizon Europe.”
