Title:* STEM applied to biomedical research: a view from the Southest
South* _
_
__Abstract:
Biomedicine is an interdisciplinary field of study that can be
approached from different perspectives. STEM is one of the ways to
implement solutions based on the understanding of real problems within
the health system. Our research group, with expertise in engineering,
mathematics, biomedicine and computer science, addresses problems in the
Southern Patagonia region by developing low-cost solutions. These
low-cost solutions are based on the dielectric characterization of
biological systems, the modeling of experimental bioimpedance data, and
the application of specific technological solutions. These applied
research efforts provide solutions to typical problems faced by isolated
regions worldwide.
The aim of this talk is to present the research lines developed at the
Applied Electronics and Biomedicine Laboratory (LEAB) of the Universidad
Nacional de Tierra del Fuego (Ushuaia, Argentina) in search of
scientific and academic collaborations.
