Prof. Alexander Kuznetsov (Steklov Institute, Moscow) will give a talk on

Mukai bundles on curves, K3 surfaces, and Fano 3-folds

on Monday, November 20th, at 2 pm in Dubrovin Lecture Room 136, SISSA Main Building.

Abstract: A famous result of Mukai establishes the existence of  exceptional vector bundles on Fano 3-folds of Picard number 1, index 1, and genus g \ge 6, that  leads, eventually, to a description of these Fano 3-folds as complete intersections in  homogeneous varieties. I will explain a slightly different construction of Mukai bundles emphasizing the role of the Brill--Noether generality properties and Lazarsfeld construction of vector bundles. This is a joint work with Arend Bayer and Emanuele Macri.

The talk of the Algebraic Geometry Seminar, originally planned for Monday afternoon, will be rescheduled.
