Success stories
Extracting rare earth elements from fertiliser production

Europe relies on imports for the crucial rare earth elements needed for 
many products and processes underpinning the European economy. The 
EU-funded SecREEts project developed a novel integrated value chain, 
which extracts these elements during fertiliser production. This 
home-grown and sustainable alternative offers raw material security, 
benefiting industry and jobs.
