ERC Work Programme 2024 adopted
The new annual plan includes changes to the assessment of research 
proposals and candidates’ CVs, as well as to the evaluation process. It 
also introduces lump sum funding for Advanced Grants and one new 
evaluation panel in the social sciences and humanities domain.

Frontier research feeds into expert opinion on sustainable food systems
The ERC has funded over 100 projects on sustainable food production and 
consumption, according to a recent report. The research explores key 
areas of the EU's Food 2030 policy. It results from a collaborative 
effort with the European Commission's Scientific Advice Mechanism and 
aims to provide scientific evidence for decision-makers.

Applications for ERC Advanced Grants 2023: Facts and figures
The ERC received 1,829 proposals for this call, which marks an increase 
of 11% compared to the 2022 call, with 1,647 applications submitted.

7 June | 2023 ESMH summer school for young media makers
The European Science Media Hub's summer school took place at the 
European Parliament in Strasbourg (6-10 June) with a focus on science 
journalism and the importance of storytelling. ERC Vice President

Artificial Intelligence for living texts
While existing AI tools help people search and extract information from 
texts, the technology still is basic. Iryna Gurevych is developing 
advanced AI tools for what she calls "living texts" — texts that 
dynamically evolve through revisions over time.

The new user-friendly and interactive platform includes even more
