Abstract:
Let f be a smooth random Gaussian field over the unit ball of R^n. It is
very natural to imagine that for a high level u, {f>u} is mainly
composed of small components homeomorphic to n-balls. I will explain
that in average, this intuition is true. After recalling the historical
background of this subject, and will present the ideas of the proof,
which holds on (deterministic) Morse theory and a control of random
critical points of given index.
