*On behalf of Prof. Dabholkar, we are pleased to invite you to the first

On 22 June, ICTP's partner institute in Rwanda, the ICTP-East African
Institute for Fundamental Research <https://eaifr.ictp.it/> (EAIFR),
will celebrate a significant achievement: its first cohort of masters
students have successfully completed their studies in the MSc physics
programme it conducts with the University of Rwanda.

A hybrid celebration of the students' achievements will be held on
Tuesday 22 June at 14:00 CET and streamed via Zoom. Preregistration is
required at: https://zoom.us/meeting/register/

After registering, participants will receive a confirmation email
containing information about joining the ceremony.

The nine masters students from three East African countries will receive
their degrees after two years of study that was prolonged by the COVID
pandemic. In addition to completing coursework, the students were
required to write and defend a thesis.  Many of the students have been
accepted to PhD studies at universities in the US and Europe, while
others have been hired to teach at the University of Rwanda and at
secondary schools.

Inaugurated in 2018, ICTP-EAIFR offers the same quality research and
educational opportunities for which ICTP is world-renowned, but at a
location more easily accessible to African scientists. ICTP-EAIFR is
hosted by the University of Rwanda and supported by the Government of
Rwanda's Ministry of Education. It has been designated a UNESCO Category
2 institute in recognition of its important role in building scientific
capacity in Africa.

For more details, visit the institute's website <https://eaifr.ictp.it/>.

Kind Regards,

Director's Office
