ABSTRACT: In the first part of this talk, I will discuss the
reconstructing problem in mirror symmetry, namely how we can construct
the mirror partner of a given variety. Although there are many examples
in which the costruction is done explicitly, it is usually quite
technical and I could not give it in full detail in this seminar.
However, I'll try to explain the main ideas behind
Kontsevich--Soibelman's construction and the Gross--Siebert's program.
In both approaches, a central role is played by scattering diagrams, and
in the last part of the talk, I will discuss one of the main results of
my thesis which is the definition of the extended tropical vertex group
where scattering diagrams can be defined.
