EAIFR, ICTP's partner Institute in Rwanda, is organizing a Webinar
Colloquium by Nobel Laureate Steven Weinberg on "Perspectives in Quantum
Field Theory" tomorrow, Thursday 17 September at 17:00 hrs.
Steven Weinberg is a theoretical physicist who holds the Josey Regental
Chair in Science at the University of Texas at Austin. Together with
Abdus Salam and Sheldon Glashow he was awarded the 1979 Nobel Prize in
Physics for contributions to the theory of the unified weak and
electromagnetic interaction between elementary particles, including,
inter alia, the prediction of the weak neutral current. He is the
recipient of a Special Breakthrough Prize in Fundamental Physics.
Weinberg’s research has extended over many areas of theoretical physics,
especially in the theory of elementary particles and in cosmology.
The colloquium will take place online; all are invited to attend by
registering in advance here:
After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing
information about joining the meeting.
Should you not be able to join the Webinar, the colloquium is also
available via live-streaming at: https://ictp.it/livestream
We look forward to seeing you on-line.
