Trainings
In the second round of the Proof of Concept (PoC) Call 2020, 55 ERC PoC
grants were awarded out of a total of 172 evaluated proposals. The
success rate is approximately 32 percent.
Eight grants go to German institutions. Institutions in France and the
UK also raised the same number of grants. No country was able to win
more grants in this round.
The grants of up to EUR 150,000 can be used for the first steps towards
research transfer. Only scientists who have already received a grant
from the European Research Council are eligible to apply.

ERC Scientific Council: Commission seeks new experts
An independent Identification Committee set up by the European
Commission has begun the search for potential candidates for membership
of the Scientific Council of the European Research Council (ERC).
Nominations are accepted until 30 September 2020.
ERC Scientific Council members are appointed by the Commission on the
basis of recommendations of the Identification Committee. The Committee
is now directly asking the main representative organisations of the
European research community through consultation letters for nominations
of suitable candidates. However, it also welcomes nominations from other
organisations representing European research.

/Do I have to conclude a Consortium Agreement in a SyG-project?/
In addition to the contracts that have to be concluded with the ERC
Executive Agency upon a mandatory basis , the Grant Agreement, and the
contracts, which are to be concluded with the respective institution
Commitment of the Host Institution, the Supplementary Agreement, it may
also make sense to conclude an additional voluntary contract, the so
calledConsortium Agreement, between the institutions to regulate the
internal relationship of the consortium. It is important that only rules
can be included that complement the contracts mentioned above and do not
contradict them. The DESCA model for collaborative projects in Horizon
2020 http://www.desca-agreement.eu/) can be used as a template, but it
should be adapted to the special conditions of the ERC Synergy Grant
project.
