Title: Tensor rank and identifiability via degenerations

Abstract: The rank of a tensor is a number that encodes how much  
information is stored in a tensor. From a geometric viewpoint, the  
rank has an interpretation in terms of secant varieties. The classical  
degenerations techniques can be helpful to study the rank of a general  
tensor. After introducing the topic, I will present some results on  
symmetric and partially symmetric tensors.
