*A catalogue of the H2020-SC5 projects updated with the 2017 one stage
results has been published by the European Commission*
The catalogue contains information about 266 projects resulting from the
2014, 2015, 2016 and first part of 2017 calls for proposals in the
Societal Challenge ‘Climate action, environment, resource efficiency and
raw materials’.

*Summary of EU participation in raw materials area of Horizon 2020*
Since the launch of Horizon 2020 in 2014 till February 2017 altogether 6
calls for proposals have been evaluated in the frame of SC5 containing
21 topics focused on raw materials. Budget for H2020 research focused on
raw materials amounts to 600 mil. €. European Commission received 198
proposals from which 40 were recommended for funding. 594 teams from 43
countries participate in those 40 projects altogether requesting 211 mil. €.

*CO_2 reuse prize *
Horizon prize CO_2 reuse will reward innovative products utilising CO_2
that could significantly reduce the atmospheric emissions of CO_2
when deployed on a commercial scale. The prize will induce actors in
this field to do more to improve their processes and products in order
to reduce atmospheric emissions of CO_2 .

Save the date – EU Research and Innovation Day at COP23, 15
November, Bonn
European Commission's DG Research and Innovation is organising a EU
Research and Innovation Day at COP 23. During this day, several issues -
such as 1.5 & 2°C strategies, Arctic science contributions to
implementing the Paris Agreement or Climate Services for Small Island
Developing States and Least Developed Countries - will be discussed. The
event will take place on 15 November 2017, COP23, Bonn zone, EU
pavilion, Room 1.
