You are all warmly invited to attend this afternoon's ICTP Colloquium
on "Women in Mathematics and Physics" by Prof. Rahini Godbole, from the
Indian Institute of Science. The Colloquium will take place in the
Budinich Lecture Hall, Leonardo Building, at 16:30.

Abstract: Prof. Godbole will tell stories of prominent women
mathematicians and physicists who were early pioneers in these two
sciences. She will then comment on the situation today. Her talk will
identify some of the best practices to attract and retain more women
into the subject of mathematics and physics.
Biosketch: Particle physicist Rohini Godbole is a professor at the
Bangalore-based Indian Institute of Science at the Center for High
Energy Physics. Over the past three decades, she has worked extensively
on different aspects of particle phenomenology, authoring close to 300
research publications in refereed journals and arxived e-prints and a
graduate text book on supersymmetry. She has actively worked for
initiatives to attract and retain more women in science at all levels.
Light refreshments will be served after the lecture which will be
live-streamed.
