QUANTITATIVE LIFE SCIENCES GUEST SEMINAR

Thursday, 30 June at 11:00 am

ICTP, Central Area, 2nd floor, old SISSA building

Speaker: May Tan LIM - National Institute of Physics, University of the
Philippines

Title: " Modeling vehicular traffic in the Philippines"

Abstract:
Traffic systems modeling has largely been an engineering problem and
entire software packages built around the problem currently exist. Yet
some assumptions may be worth questioning. In this talk, I will provide
an overview of some unique features of vehicular traffic in the
Philippines. These features, which range from driving behavior to
management methods, provide an interesting test bed for traffic models
with adaptive agents.
