(IAMP) and Foreign Secretary of the US Institute of Medicine.

Title: Trieste  presentation of the IAMP statement:   "A Call for Action
to Strengthen Health Research Capacity in  Low and Middle-Income Countries"

The document was drafted by a high level group of experts convened by
the IAMP Executive Committee and affirms that in order to improve the
health status of all people and contribute to social and economic
development and innovation, countries must strengthen their research
capacity. It has been endorsed by over 40 national academies of medicine
and science.
The presentation will be followed by a round table discussion.
