Postdoctoral Fellows (2 positions)
(Two-year Contracts)

The Stellenbosch node of the South African National Institute for 
Theoretical Physics (NITheP) has two postdoctoral vacancies in the 
fields of Condensed Matter and Statistical Physics. The particular 
research focuses of this node are cold atoms, quantum transport and 
phase transitions.

The appointments will be made within the structure of Stellenbosch 
University on a two-year contract basis, with the possibility of renewal 
for one additional year.

Duties: Maintaining a vigorous research programme
• being involved with supervision and tutoring at graduate level.

Requirements: A relevant doctorate of high standing
• a developing research record and demonstrated research potential.

Commencement of duties: 1 September 2012 or as soon as possible thereafter.

Closing date: Review of applications will begin on 31 July 2012 and 
continue until both positions are filled.
