"The Casimir effect:  Present status, theoretical puzzles and  future perspectives"

  

Abstract

 The seminar will provide a pedagogical introduction to the Casimir effect.

An overview will be given of open theoretical puzzles and of  recent experiments, with an eye on perpsective applications of the Casimir effect to nanotechnology.
