Our Master?s degree in Coffee Economics and Science is an activity that
includes a renowned group of leaders in the field of education:
· the Ernesto Illy Foundation,
· the Università del Caffè of illycaffè,
· the University of Trieste,
· the University of Udine,
· International Superior School of Advanced Studies of Trieste (Sissa),
· the Association of Molecular Biomedicine and
· the District of Coffee (Trieste Coffee Cluster)
The *deadline *for applying to* *one of the 7 *scholarships* is* May 31,
2010.*
* *
The 4-month master* *is scheduled to begin in the *academic year
2010-2011* (January 17 ? April 22) and it will be held here, at
*illycaffè* (Trieste, Italy).**
Essentially, scholarship candidates who are interested should send *3
documents* to the Foundation [info at fondazioneilly.org
<mailto:info at fondazioneilly.org>]:
*1. **_CV/resume
_*At the moment transcripts are not necessary, but a copy of bachelor?s
and/or master?s degree would be helpful.*__*
*2. **_letter of presentation
_*This letter gives us a concise picture of who* *the candidate is.
Consider the letter of presentation as a *resume/CV in letter format*.
It should be more compendious and precise than the letter of motivation.*__*
*3. **_letter of motivation
_*The letter of motivation is basically a short essay to learn more
about the reasons why the candidate is applying to our master?s degree
and his/her ability to benefit from and contribute to it. The answers
will allow the candidate to state his/her case more fully than the
letter of presentation, and provide the evaluator with better insight
about the candidate and how he/she differs from other applicants. This
letter will also help us decide whether an applicant will be selected.
The purpose of the letter of motivation is to convey a sense of the
candidate?s unique character to the admissions committee. The letter
will also demonstrate his/her writing skills in the English language.*__*
All letters should be in English and addressed to the Ernesto Illy
Foundation.
For those who would like to simply* apply to the master program* (no
scholarship) the *deadline is September 15, 2010*.
The necessary documents to apply are two: 1) your CV/resume and 2) the
letter of presentation (see points 1 and 2 above).
By July we should have more detailed enrolment instructions and the
candidate must submit the enrolment contract on or before December 17,
2010.
Once the form has been returned, we will contact the applicant and
assist him/her in preparing their stay and studies here in Italy.
The Ernesto Illy Foundation is more than willing to help students find
affordable housing as well as assist them with any other related
questions they may have.
However, the enrolment procedures for non-European citizens will require
some time.
The Italian Embassy-Consular Agency, located in the non-EEC student?s
country, must grant an entrance visa with the motive of study.
This visa will be necessary for the candidate?s participation to the
abovementioned Master.
*_An early response is strongly encouraged_*.
